Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on Thursday met with Dutch Foreign Minister Hanke Bruins Slot, in The Hague, the Armenian foreign ministry informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

They exchanged views on the Armenian-Dutch bilateral agenda and the perspectives of expanding the political dialogue. The steps taken to strengthen democracy and the rule of law in Armenia and the readiness for further bilateral cooperation in that regard were emphasized. In this context, as well as in the context of the fight against impunity, Armenia's membership in the International Criminal Court was also noted with satisfaction.

The FMs of Armenia and the Netherlands discussed also the partnership between Armenia and the European Union. Mirzoyan emphasized the continued development of cooperation in various domains, including the further strengthening of Armenia's resilience.

The interlocutors reflected also on the latest developments in the South Caucasus and the overall security situation. In this regard, FM Mirzoyan presented to his Dutch colleague Armenia's vision for establishing stability and peace in its region. Referring to the work on the draft of a peace treaty with Azerbaijan, Mirzoyan emphasized that the clear commitment of not only Armenia, but also of Azerbaijan is necessary on key issues. The Armenia FM stressed the fundamental principles for the Armenian side in the process of normalizing Armenia-Azerbaijan relations; in particular, the importance of unequivocal respect for territorial integrity and indivisibility of borders.

In the context of unblocking transport and economic communications in the region and Armenia's peace agenda, FM Mirzoyan drew his colleague's attention to the popular principles underlying the Crossroads of Peace project developed by the Armenian government.

In addition, the FMs of Armenia and the Netherlands agreed to continue active contacts and discussions on all matters of mutual interest.
