Moscow is ready to contribute to the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced this at the meeting with his Armenian counterpart, Ararat Mirzoyan, in Skopje, reports the press service of the Russian foreign ministry.

Within the framework of the 30th Ministerial Council of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in the aforesaid capital of North Macedonia, the two FMs discussed the current matters on their bilateral agenda, as well as cooperation within international platforms and general integration associations.

There was an exchange of views on regional issues, too.

"The Russian side has confirmed its readiness to actively contribute to the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations, based on the tripartite agreements between the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, and Armenia for 2020-2022, including the signing of a peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku," the Russian foreign ministry added in its statement.

Furthermore, the need for further contacts at various levels was confirmed.
